Red bumpy skin on your arms?

Do you notice red, bumpy skin on the backs of your arms?  This is most likely Keratosis Pilaris, a super common skin disorder.

In childhood, it’s best to start with a daily gentle cleanser such as Cetaphil once daily.  Follow with Cetaphil moisturizer.  If this is not enough after 6-8 weeks, you can increase to Amlactin lotion once daily.

Adult skin is a little more resilient and you could start with Amlactin lotion once daily.  After 3 weeks, if no improvement, you could add MD Essentials Glycolic cleanser, Epionce’s Lytic Treatment, or a retinoid once daily (preferably prescription strength).  Please remember to not do all of this at once to avoid overly irritating the skin.  Go slow and give several weeks for the skin to adjust between additions.

Submit an online consultation if you feel your skin is ready for that prescription strength plan!
